Brian Sellers understands the shame and hurt that results from addiction because he has witnessed its effects on individuals and families including his own. Having seen addiction's effects firsthand, Brian knows it affects all people regardless of race, age, sexual orientation, or socio-economic background. While working as a mental health therapist at a local psychiatric hospital, Brian gained invaluable experience counseling an adolescent sex offender population. Many of those he counseled had multiple addictions including pornography, drugs and alcohol. Brian has also counseled adolescents and their families participating in his county’s adolescent drug court, and he has facilitated therapeutic groups focusing on addiction. Brian recognizes and values the support system which many people suffering from an addiction need in order to heal from this painful life.
Brian is certified to give the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory to access for the severity of chemical addictions. He received his Masters of Education in Community Agency Counseling from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, AL. Brian is a National Board Certified Counselor. In addition to his professional counseling experience, Brian also has experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative. That experience allowed him to see and gain an understanding of the pharmacology of chemical addiction as well. On a personal level, Brian enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He is also an active member of Longview Heights Church.
